Animal Hospital of Loves Park - Services
Pets make wonderful companions for children and adults alike. Routine veterinary care can extend your pet’s lifespan, so you can enjoy his company year after year. At Animal Hospital of Loves Park, we’re committed to helping pet owners care for their pets. We offer the following pet care services to protect and preserve your pet’s health.
Preventive pet care services are designed to prevent sicknesses that can impair your pet’s health. An annual wellness exam is an important part of preventive care. During an annual pet exam, your veterinarian will inspect your pet from nose to tail, including his heart, lungs, and joints, to see if he shows signs of sickness or health conditions.
If we suspect your pet has a health problem, we’ll perform tests to confirm our diagnosis. Testing may include urine analysis, fecal smear, bacterial and fungal culture, x-rays, or an EKG. Our in-house diagnostics enable us to get prompt, accurate results to avoid delays in treatment.
Vaccinations, parasite control, spay & neuter procedures, nutritional counseling, and dental care services are also part of our preventive care program. We’ll update your pet’s vaccinations as needed to keep him safe from contagious diseases. We’ll check your pet for parasites and provide medications to keep him parasite-free year-round.
If you’re not planning on breeding your kit or pooch, we recommend spay or neuter surgeries to prevent unwanted pregnancies. After examining your pet, your veterinarian can suggest the best time to schedule these surgeries.
Many pet owners overlook the importance of dental care in their pet’s healthcare plan. Your pet’s oral health, however, will affect his overall health. We recommend dogs and cats have annual dental checkups and professional cleanings to protect their teeth and gums. Pets, like people, are highly susceptible to periodontal disease. Left unchecked, periodontal disease can get into your pet’s bloodstream, causing liver, kidney, and heart problems. Routine dental care can help prevent dental problems before they start.
Our animal hospital has the staff and resources, including anesthesia and monitoring equipment, to perform spay & neuter, soft tissue, and dental surgeries. If your pet requires in-patient treatment for a grave illness, hospitalization is available as part of his treatment.
If you have to leave town and can’t take your pet, we’re more than happy to care for him in our boarding facility. We also offer grooming and bathing services to keep your pet looking and feeling his best.
